The Clements Group, a nationally-known community college consultant, is conducting research on the region's workforce development needs and performing a community needs assessment to evaluate the potential for a community college to serve northwest Pennsylvania.
Work began in September 2008, guided by a group of economic developers led by the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership. In December, Clements conducted 96 one-on-one interviews with representatives of business, industry, education and government from Erie, Crawford and Warren counties. In January, they held forums with healthcare, service, manufacturing, and community organizations, and with students, parents and educators. This was followed by an online survey and other data collection. The final report was presented on April 3, 2009, and can be downloaded from the REthink Erie Home Page.
